Morning Announcements

ANNOUNCEMENTS –  DECEMBER 16, 2008

NOTE! IIOD (Internet Information ON Demand) Starting January 12, the Oldham County District will begin using a new software for grading and attendance called Infinite Campus. The Kentucky Department of Education had mandated that all school districts make this change. IIOD, the information system currently used by parents to access grade information, will no longer be functional as of January 5, 2009. Infinite Campus has a similar feature, but it will not be functional while we make the transition to our new software. We hope it will be up and running after Spring Break. Letters will be mailed to parents explaining how to login and access their information and more information will be posted on the District website at that time.

Attention Students:  If you would like to participate in the South Oldham Rotary Club Speech Contest, stop by the Office to pick up an information packet.  Remember, there are cash prizes involved and the topic is “Make Dreams Real”.

Reminder:  the next blood drive at SOHS will be held on February 24.  If you are at least 16 years old and wish to participate, stop by the Office for a consent form.  If you have questions, please see Casey Griffin or Mr. Williamson in Room 209.

If you are interested in auditioning for “Oklahoma” in January, please put your name on the audition sheet on Ms Nitzken’s door, Room 117.

Continue bringing in those canned goods for the Student Council Food Drive.  The third block class collecting the most  will be treated to a pizza party.

The annual English Speaking Union Shakespeare competition will be held on Jan 14, 2009, immediately after school.  You do not have to be in the Theatre Dept to compete.  Stop by Ms Nitzken’s door, Rm 117, for more information.  Last year SOHS had the third place winner!

Senior T-shirts are on sale from now until the Holiday Break.  T-shirts are $12 and sweatshirts are $20.  Students can purchase these at lunch from class representatives or they can see Ms Brainard before or after school.

An Important Reminder to Students and Staff:  Because of food allergies and Oldham County Board Policy, remember that any food items brought to school to be shared with other people must be commercially prepared and have the ingredients attached.

The December Dragon’s Tale is on sale today and tomorrow for 50 cents.

The deadline for ordering French Club shirts has been extended to Friday, Dec 19th.  The cost is $12.
